One of the main motivators for me to become a nurse practitioner was the desire to prevent patients from being hospitalized. Being a ‘physician extender’ enables me to be more directly involved in patient care, spending as much time as is needed to empower patients to take charge of their care and their health. After more than two decades, I’ve learned that top-quality family medicine starts with listening well and committing the time to get patients motivated and involved in their best health.
